Conference on New England Archaeology
May 4, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The next Conference on New England Archaeology will be held on Saturday May 4th, 2019 in Castleton, VT. This year’s meeting is co-sponsored by Castleton University and the Vermont Archaeological Society. This year’s theme is ceramics, “Ceramics: Connecting Pieces & People Across Time & Status,” and will cover both the pre- and post-contact periods. The morning will be comprised of traditional papers, while the afternoon will focus on workshops and show-and-tell. Attendees are encouraged to bring one or two artifacts that will be of interest to other experts and attendees. (This is not a free identification session, so choose wisely!)
The Conference on New England Archaeology (CNEA) also invites researchers to contribute posters to the 2019 annual meeting. This year’s theme is ceramics, and we encourage archaeologists to share the work they’ve done with ceramics and beyond. Please contact CNEA Newsletter Editor, Jessica Watson, at jewatson@albany.edu. We will be accepting poster submission requests until April 26, 2019.
Finally, CNEA is accepting nominations for the next round of Steering Committee members. Please consider lending a hand in planning our future conferences! Nominations can be submitted to Jaime Donta (jaime.donta@powereng.com).
